How VSB took action in the main bearing with minimum impact
Turbit's monitoring system flagged a creeping main-bearing temperature trend that had built up since spring/summer 2022. By April 2023 the deviation was unmistakable. Within a week the OEM had committed to a fix; a greasing operation on May 3rd brought temperatures back into the expected range — issue addressed within roughly one month, no downtime, additional grease pumps installed for continuous lubrication.

Through the Turbit software we were able to implement new processes and routines to improve the performance of the wind farms.
Analyzing the issue
Upon detecting a change in the normal behavior of the wind turbine in April 2023, Turbit's monitoring system promptly identified an anomaly. A consistent upward trend in main-bearing temperatures had been visible since spring/summer 2022 — a pattern that raised concerns for developing damage in the main bearing.

Collaborative approach
VSB took the temperature data and Turbit's analysis to the OEM with physical evidence in hand. Within a week the OEM committed to resolving the issue: they devised a plan to retrieve a grease sample for analysis and to grease the main bearing as soon as possible.
Solution implementation
The greasing operation performed on May 3rd proved instrumental. Temperatures decreased and stayed within the expected range. To ensure continuous lubrication going forward, the OEM installed additional grease pumpings in the wind turbine. The turbine has since been operating within normal temperature ranges, with continued monitoring to identify any potential damage from the prior period of elevated temperatures.

Generator MonitoringEnergiequelle traces a generator anomaly to a faulty frequency converter
Turbit's alarm flagged stator-winding temperatures rising on a SAB-operated turbine. Energiequelle's analysis pointed at a malfunctioning frequency converter; the service partner replaced it inside 3.5 months and the turbine returned to rated power without further incident.
